Every year the Naval Academy holds a very important event called Ring Dance in which the 2nd Class (Juniors) officially become 1st Class (Seniors). They hold a huge ball with a formal dinner...formal wear...and fireworks. The midshipmen take their class rings that they hand picked and place them around their dates necks(There is a lot more to it...but I will explain more in the future). The dance is almost a week away...
