The weekend was much needed. Although it came and went far too quickly, and here I sit...contemplating the future studying I must resume as my Monday classes resulted in homework overload. Yuck!!!
Of course I will procrastinate these important assignments, and post instead! (I always tell my mom it's because I work better under pressure)
This past weekend started off rather rough. Friday, I went to the gym after my morning classes. My afternoon classes had been cancelled...and I was thrilled because this meant I could begin my journey to Annapolis to see Pat sooner. Right?
Wrong. The first mistake I made, was to unlock ONLY the trunk of my car. I had several bags with me...and as I was watching the trunk close, I realized I had left my keys in it. It literally was slow motion and before I could save my mistake, the trunk was closed.
Typical Kalyn.
What was worse is the fact that all my contact information was attached to my keys via a wristlet for the weekend. Oye Vey. So what do I do? Go back into the gym and cry. I am not talking a few tears. I am talking dramatic break down with a huge audience.
Eventually AAA comes to save the day, pops my lock...and dumby Kalyn is finally on her way again. Right?
Wrong again.
As I start to drive, I notice a guy honk at me. Thinking he was a creeper, I ignored the guy. Then...four more people honk at me. I roll down my window and a lady tells me that a mug is on the roof of my car. Yes, that is right...my beloved Lilly Pulitzer thermal mug was sitting on my roof while I was driving. I pull over to save it. It tumbles. Poor Lilly mug. It now looks like a dog chewed it up. Depressing. I mourned the whole way to Annapolis.
It's okay if you laugh at this. I am smiling as I write this. It truly was just one of those days where everything goes wrong. Yet at the end of the day, you find so much humor in it.
This weekend was spent with Pat. After two weekends apart, I really just needed time with him. We went out in Annapolis the first night for our friend's 21st birthday! We then spent the next night in D.C. where we fought traffic due to The Cherry Blossom Festival.
Sunday we finally got to go to the festival ourselves. It truly is beautiful despite the crowds, and I am always a kid at heart when going to see the monuments and all the history that they involve. Here are some pictures from our trip:
Hope y'all had a great weekend! Stay tuned for a fashion post tonight!

Awww, how sad! I had one of those days today, and although I'm sure I'll laugh at it later, I was definitely not laughing today! It sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! I bet the cherry blossoms were gorgeous!

Looks like a lot of fun!!
Great time of year to visit DC!
Good Day,
It seems as though you had an exceptional time in the beltway and who wouldn't with cherry blossoms and partial sunshine! Have a great week.
Cordially,
Rauslton
At least all the bad things led to enjoying time with Pat! The Cherry Blossom festival sounds like a great time and it looks beautiful. I love your picture of the Washington Monument.
